Its looking ever more likely that Frank Lampard will be the new Derby Manager.
Looking forward to this one personally!

It's a risk that's for sure. If your a manager of a team doing well lower down the league's and you applied for this job you would be annoyed. Especially as you already have good knowledge of the types of budget players derby are going to be buying this season.

Maybe they think Lampard will know most of the squad quite well as they are a similar age......................

I suppose his Uncle 'Arry' won't be able to offer too much advice to him, especially when it comes to wasting millions of pounds on players, seeing as the sheep don't have millions of pounds to spend on players now lololololol

Much like Gerard going to Rangers.
Top internationals don’t always make the best managers. Remember Bryan Robson. You’d have thought he was guaranteed to be a great manager, but no so much. Then there’s Psycho of course.

Dare I even mention Stuart Pearce? I guess theyre relying heavily of loans this season and perhaps Lampard can pull a few strings in that department.

I'm just thrilled to see that they want to be us so bad they have made sure everyone knows they want the Red.
Cracking new sponsor for them 32red. Or as they will be known A52Red.

I’ve seen some suggest Lampard should have started at the bottom to learn the trade, but surely that’s exactly what he’s done.

Mel Morris statement from Frank Lampard Press Conference
"It’s impossible to spend the way we have year after year after year."
“FFP is very real, so it’s time to bring our house in order in terms of that.”

This is either going to be an amazing appointment [promotion, play offs and losing finalists minimum].
OR he is going to eventually crash and burn [like all of Mel Morris's other appointments]!
My money is very much on the latter!!

Mel Morris statement from Frank Lampard Press Conference "It’s impossible to spend the way we have year after year after year." “FFP is very real, so it’s time to bring our house in order in terms of that.” So Mad Mel gets an unproven manager. Rather than assessing the squad and getting him to ship out the over paid. Rather than letting him make in roads into new players.... Mad Mel allows his new man to jet of to Russia to help with the BBC World Cup coverage. Can't see how that can be of benefit. I know that Lampard may have already agreed to go to Russia, but do you not think he would cancel as he has been given his first chance as manager? Makes me kind of happy.
